Cauliflower Pizza Crust

Just incase you didn’t know, I love pizza!! Who doesn’t? Upon giving up gluten, I was desperate to find a new way to satisfy my craving. I kept hearing about cauliflower pizza crust and i thought to myself: “How is that even possible?” So i looked up a few recipes to get inspired so i can create my own crust. Surprisingly, it was delicious! Of course, i failed to read the directions where it states you must microwave the ‘cauliflower rice,’ therefor i thought it would be ruined, however it still tasted delicious. The combination of cheese and spices really flavors the cauliflower. The texture?Ok, so it’s not that chewy, doughy, crispy crust that we are all used to, but it sure packs in the flavor. I made sure to leave it in a little longer so that the bottom would become crispy, and it made such a difference. So load it up with your favorite toppings and enjoy!

First, I gathered MOST of the ingredients:

Then,  I grated half a head of cauliflower on a box grater, but of course you can also use a food processor! (I am just to lazy to clean all those parts :p)

WARNING! BEFORE YOU PERFORM THE NEXT STEP, MAKE SURE TO COOK THE CAULIFLOWER RICE!..i failed to do that, but it still turned out pretty good, in my opinion.

Then, I mixed the “cauliflower rice” with parmesan,mozzarella,  an egg, and spices:

Bake at 450 on a nonstick pan for about 15 minutes, or golden and crispy!

Then  take it out, load up your favorite toppings and broil for about 5 minutes. Keep an eye on it!

Cauliflower Pizza Crust:

1/2 head of cauliflower, riced

1 large egg

3/4 cup shredded mozzarella

1/4 cup parmesan

3/4 tsp oregano

1/4 tsp. garlic powder

1/4 tsp, onion powder

Preheat oven to 450 F. First, rice the cauliflower by using a box grater or food processor. Put ‘riced’ cauliflower in a microwave safe bowl and microwave for about 5-8 minutes, or until tender ( no water needed). Then add the remaining ingredients to the bowl of ‘riced’ cauliflower and mix until it is all incorporated evenly. Transfer to a nonstick baking dish, and form into about a 12 inch crust. Put in the oven for about 15 minutes, or until crispy and golden. Then take it out and add your desired toppings. Put the oven on broil and put the pizza back in for bout five minutes. Keep an eye on it! Make sure to let it cool for about 5-10 minutes.
